CandH Exclusive: Masuaku update – injury issue explained

Arthur Masuaku could be out of action for as little as three weeks or as long as eight!

ClaretandHugh has discovered that the left-back underwent exploratory surgery on his knee this week after medical specialists agreed to conduct a washout on the affected area.

No serious surgery was conducted and nor will it be, he will now be rested for a couple of weeks and asked to report on how he feels and whether he believes there’s a need for the specialists to look again at the niggling knee problem he has experienced.

However, should the problem continue and the player is unhappy with the ‘feel’ of his knee then it could be that deeper surgery may be required.

In that case, we could be seeing him out of action for maybe eight weeks or more but that would be the worst possible outcome.

However, there’s a confidence that as he has played through it in the past that there is no big threat of a long term absence and that the problem will turn out to be minor.

Exploratory surgery? He probably had a small meniscal tear that was shaved. Otherwise he lost his starting spot on the team for nothing.
