CandH follower: “I’d be happy to see Zouma turfed out of the club this afternoon.

|

The anger being felt towards Kurt Zouma’s violence towards his pet cat is growing across CandH. It is summed up here by follower ljd1980.

By ljd1980

I can only imagine that all that heading of the ball has destroyed any intelligence and empathy that Kurt Zouma was born with.

Otherwise, it’s hard to imagine how a grown man in the UK in 2022, who has enough money to guarantee himself privacy, can find himself in a position where a) he’s physically abusing an animal; b) his equally heartless and equally dumb brother is filming the abuse, and; c) the film ends up in the hands of The Sun.

I couldn’t give a ….about league positions or money. I’d be happy to see Zouma turfed out of the club this afternoon. …. him. And his two bob brother.

With this coming off the back of the embarrassment of Yarmolenko tripping himself up in box on Saturday to gain an unfair advantage over the Kiddie defenders, who’d all played with far more determination and application than the Ukrainian has been able to summon in the three years that he’s been with us, I’d be happy to see the back of the pair of them this afternoon.

I am really worried at the moment, we had a poor summer transfer window, the players we brought in have not performed with the exception of Zouma but now this. Alot of supporters at the time myself included thought Milenkovic from Fiorentina was the better player and better buy but Moyes went for the safe option in Zouma. This incident is really odd behaviour and this is the last thing we need especially after a poor Jan window. I think moyes has been brilliant but not in the recruitment aspect..

I completely agree with ljd1980. The ONLY way this can be made right is if a) the club fines him 2 weeks wages (the maximum allowed) and donates the money (probably £200k) to a cat charity b) Zouma tops up the fine with another £200k c) Zouma does an extended period of voluntary work with a cat charity d) Zouma goes on an anger-management course. If that doesn’t happen I’d happily see him leave today, with no compensation, as he must have broken his contract. Gratuitous, cowardly, unspeakable cruelty. He hasn’t just kicked a a cat. He has kicked the whole club and its fans in the teeth. This could derail our season.

There’ll be another season. Hopefully, Zouma’s cat will live to see it roll around. If he’s seen to have fallen foul of the new animal welfare legislation, which imposes higher penalties for animal abusers like Zouma, he may very well find himself in breach of contract. If that’s the case, West Ham may be able sack him, and sue him too. It’s 2022, not 1922. One of the things the UK does better than most other countries of the world is animal welfare. We don’t need savages like Zouma blotting the UK, or indeed the West Ham, copybook.

juanderodillas, I,too, was left horrified and in disbelief after seeing this video. If, however, he is sacked none of your excellent suggestions, (a to d), will happen. Zouma will be playing again by the end of the month,(probably abroad), after pocketing a huge signing on fee, being a free agent. West Ham will be 30million pounds out of pocket+ possibly another 30 to replace him at the end of the deason. We won’t be strong enough in central defence to maintain our league position or continue far in the FA Cup or Europa league. I honestly think that for Zouma to be appropriately punished, he must stay at the club otherwise it’s the club bring punished for Zouma’s transgression.

Yes Zouma is a complete idiot and should be thoroughly ashamed of himself. No-one should treat any living creature like that. Ever! But what is it with this country? Three obsessions: wars, uniforms and pets. The reaction to this is the same mentality that apparently led the prime minister to authorise the air lifting of pets over human from Afghanistan.

    • ljd1980 says:

What is it with this country?! It’s called humanity, compassion, empathy, animal sentience. Do you want me to go on?! By the way, I’m not obsessed with any of wars, uniforms or pets.

This has disgusted me and he needs to go. We have no room for anyone like this in our club. We are rightly quick to punish supporters for wrongdoings, so let’s do the same to players who step out of line. Can’t stand bullies who pick on anyone or anything that cannot fight back.

  • Trevor From England says:

This could be the end of Zouma’s career in England.
