Close to what most expect – Moyes

|

David Moyes believes the Hammers are getting closer to where they need to be in terms of their ideal starting XI.

The Hammers were able to restore Nayef Aguerd to their starting XI against Leeds in a game that ended in a pulsating 2-2 draw.

Moyes feels that he is getting nearer and nearer to the team he consistently wants to pick, with only Kurt Zouma still on the sidelines.

He admits there are rotation questions over the attackers, but he is happy with the make-up of the squad ahead of this weekend’s FA Cup third round clash with Brentford, despite the dearth of victories.

He told reporters: “I actually think if you look back to the games against Leicester, Crystal Palace and even Arsenal, Aguerd is the only one who has been missing, as well as Kurt Zouma.

“We are getting much closer to being more settled. We have a few decisions to make in some of the forward players at different times. In the main it is pretty close to what most people would expect. But while we are not getting results I need to keep looking to see if I can hit on the right thing that will get us the goals and stop conceding.”

    Smoke and mirrors (imo)
Moyes has shown no interest in the youth set up of West Ham.
The games he mentions we lost although we had better performances against these teams.
Worried it’s taken him 18 games to find his best side despite injuries (all other teams have suffered injuries). Still half a season to go…. COYI

Is he talking about defence, or has he completely forgotten about Cornet?
