Computer forecasts Irons survival chances

|

West Ham are going to be playing Premier League football next season – according to the supercomputer run by footballwebpages.co.uk.

All of such forecasts need to be taken with a pinch of salt of course but it’s at least nice to find that the first forecast from such a source – others run supercomputers – has us scrambling clear of the drop.

Aston Villa are predicted to suffer relegation straight back to the Championship – alongside Watford and Norwich.

The supercomputer claims that last year’s Championship winners will end the season with just 27 points, and finish bottom of the Premier League table.

And it goes on to say that  Watford will finish 19th on 30 points and Villa’s January recruitment will not be enough to keep them safe, predicting the League Cup finalists will finish 18th on 31 points – thus taking just six points from their remaining 13 fixtures.

Norwich will finish the season having only recorded six wins and a massive 23 losses, whilst Watford will finish on seven wins and 22 defeats.

Although they currently sit in 18th, the Hammers would be comfortably safe on 37 points, six ahead of the relegation places whilst Bournemouth would be 17th on 34 points.

ClaretandHugh: It’s regularly been claimed that the Hammers run in will possibly make the difference between survival and relegation although we have all been supporting this club long enough to know that it’s more than feasible that a couple of surprise wins against the likes of Chelsea, Spurs and maybe, more probably, Arsenal could be on the cards. Wednesday night could tell us an awful lot more about our chances – win or lose at the Etihad. There has to be passion, determination and hopefully at least two or three creative chances moments. Absolutely nothing is out of our hands and as reported earlier, with results going our way over the last few days, let’s hope the build up to the game will bring much positivity from the 12th man too. We need it big time and with a few political problems affecting City all our fingers are now truly crossed.

The best run in is usually against mid table teams with nothing for the players to get excited about, it’s all well and good think we are playing teams in and around us but that is a double edged sword.

Anyone know the supercomputer’s accuracy ratings?

Forecast is no good without some supporting data
