Could West Ham do a Crystal Palace?

|

Crystal Palace lost their first seven games last season conceding 17 goals in the process.

Losses against Huddersfield, Liverpool, Swansea, Burnley, Southampton, Man City and Manchester United left them pointless until mid October when they finally beat Chelsea at home 2-1.

Palace was written off by many in the early stages of season, destined for relegation they said. In fact despite a poor start the Eagles finished in 11th spot in the Premier League table on 44 points two places above West Ham.

West Ham have lost their first four league games against Liverpool. Bournemouth, Arsenal and Wolves and with Everton, Chelsea and Manchester United as the next three games the Hammers could easily equal Palace’s record of seven Premier League games without a single point.

Palace has proved a very poor start can be recovered without the need to panic to talk oneself into a relegation  battle too early.

If panicking means changing manager then Palace panicked after 4 games

West Ham panicked by ousting Moyes when there was no need to Panic Before a ball was even kicked this season . So doing , a Palace doesn’t enter the equation . New season , new team , new Manager . It’s sad to be talking on this theme so early doors but , the reason for it is there . Four losses on the bounce with very big games coming up .
What to do ? , panic some more ? , well maybe yes is the answer . Best to panic and run instead of waiting for the bomb to hit .

Do a CP? Change a foreign manager with a reputation for attacking football for an English manager with a reputation for cautious football?

There’s always Fat Sam.Not being funny, but I bet we wouldn’t have lost 4 s

Too right HH – vs Bournemouth Ogbonna would have put the ball into row Z when in doubt – ditto Diop vs Arsenal and Sanchez in the last minute would have aimed a long ball forward – so maybe now we would have had 3 points at least
