David Gold gives injury update

|

West Ham Joint Chairman David Gold has given the reason why Mark Noble, Angelo Ogbonna and Ryan Fredericks were all missing yesterday at Craven Cottage as the Hammers faced Fulham in a domestic pre-season friendly.

David Gold took to twitter to answer a question from a West Ham fan to confirm: “All are carrying minor injuries. dg”

Declan Rice and Carlos Sanchez were forced to cover the centre back roles for the latter half of the match with Winston Reid also mysteriously missing from the matchday squad.

Hopefully, the four players were only excluded as a precaution and we will see them return for the trip to Austria for the second summer training camp where West Ham will face Hertha Berlin next Wednesday.

With a long Premier League season ahead, West Ham will be hoping to start with a fully fit squad without any long term injuries as they look to improve on last season’s tenth place finish.
