David Gold on Moyes appointment

|

“I guess that’s what’s been our main reason for choosing David [experience], and I think it’s perfect for him and perfect for us. So I’m optimistic for the future,” David Gold told Sky Sports News.

“I’m pleased, I think we’ve got the best man that’s available at this time and I’m sure he’s going to take us forward.

“You were talking about his experience, that’s what we need. He came from Preston, he was very successful at Preston and he was very successful at Everton, and we think he’s the right man for the job.”

“He will be telling us,” added Gold when asked about possible transfer targets for Moyes.

“We’ve got to give him a little time, he only arrived this morning. He will be telling us what he thinks we need.

“It wouldn’t be a lot. Let’s face it, we believed at the beginning of this season that we had the best squad of players for a decade. But no doubt he will tell us where the weakness is.”

    It wouldn’t be a lot ? Let’s face it ?? πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
What he meant was ! We ain’t giving him the money he needs to put this club on the road to recovery !! Dillusional talk !!! This squad needs at least 7 players brought in and moved out !
This squad is relegation fodder lol its so out of balance it keeps rolling over !! Literally !!!
Best squad for a decade !! On paper maybe !! Fekin clueless !! The shyte just keeps rolling off the tongue !! So there it is Moyes , Β£450 _ plus 4 books of green shield stamps ( out of date )
πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ no intentions of spending what they have been preaching from day one , 5 years they said ?? Two Bob muppets !!! You are the cause of all this clubs troubles !! 😎

So not crap tactics, no motivation, poor stamina training or lazy players then?

Of course it was ? I was referring to the transfer kitty ??? πŸ˜‰
Prepagen , noble , fonte, ogbonna , cresswell , massuaku , ayew, Fernandez , hart?
With the exception of Fernandez who is learning his trade and keep on the books , are bang average players , some have age concerns so add zabba to that the rest have flaws in their game , so I disagree with the were good enough view , we will see if Moyes can make a lamb out of mutton in due course ! I doubt it imo, we need new blood and sugo will not cough up , so he is making these hidden sign remarks , Hence his comment ?? Sully has just come out and said Moyes is a gamble !! Kick in the bolloxxx early then just to boost the confidence in the man !πŸ˜‚ I hope Moyes does the job well , who wouldn’t !! We will see ? His problem is the board !! I expect sugo to put their money where their mouth is to you’re question, don’t understand the next bit , you’re point is ? Don’t see what that has to do with anything in my comment !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!πŸ˜€

Obviously, it’s difficult to argue with opinions expressed with so many emojis and exclamation marks but…

What on earth did you expect a chairman to say before his new appointee has even had a chance to meet up with his players let alone see how they play for him?

We DO have a pretty good squad on paper, our problem for the last season or so has been not being able to get them playing to the level at which they should be capable – shouldn’t we be giving D3 the opportunity to achieve this before making announcements of wholesale purchasing?

This season’s now a write-off and all we have to do is limp over the finish line come May. The squad is good enough for a top ten place and doesn’t need much tinkering. Personally, I’m hoping for more starts from Rice and Obiang and some younger ones pushing for places when the establishment don’t deliver. Just get us to the end of May without relegation Mr Moyes, then we can re-re-build again and again and again and again.

I agree almost sold Obiang summer before last then Bilic had to use him & he was great. But get the feeling Bilic didn’t fancy him. Rice same he has show more passion & maturity the most of the team. We just haven’t played as a Team.
U23# like Toni Rice & others were supposedly in training & worked on passing running & drills.
Obiang is a solid player & think we will see him starting more & should Rice is present & future he easy in back 3 think Moyes prob go back 4 which still I would start Rice over Og & Fonte is out

  • Roytheboy says:

The trouble is apart from Antonio the team as little or no pace, and in the premier league that’s the killer. I think Smeegle will have to work his sweaty socks off here.

    Best man?
Or a manager where you didn’t have to put your hand in your pocket and stump up compo for?
