Declan in very confident mood

|

Declan Rice has revealed he has taken an empty bag to the World Cup, so he can bring the trophy home in it!

The Hammer has been included in Gareth Southgate’s squad for the tournament in Qatar and he clearly feels confident of going all the way.

England will play Iran in their opener on Monday, before taking on the USA and Wales in later group games.

Declan has been a cornerstone of the England squad for some time and was central to their run to the final of Euro 2020.

If the Three Lions are to end their 56 years of hurt, Declan will have to be at his exceptional best but he is clearly confident of coming back a World Cup winner, just like Bobby Moore before him.

Quoted by The Sun, the confident Iron said: “There’s nothing in that one. That’s a spare.

“Hopefully I’ll bring home the trophy in this one.”

We don’t agree with anything about the tournament in Qatar, but Declan has all of our support, and hopefully he delivers on the pitch.
