Declan’s plea on Jesse

|

Declan Rice will be among the most deeply disappointed should Jesse Lingard fail to become a West Ham player.

Our last report was to give Jesse’s comments on his position at the club in which he spoke of taking great experiences away from his loan spell.

It seemed worrying that he should talk like that on what could be one of his last chances to speak to the official website with the season ending tomorrow (Sunday).

Declan, meanwhile, has made it crystal clear that the Manchester United midfielder is precisely the player we need at the club and has changed the team completely.

So it would indeed be a massive blow should the 28 year old decide to move  elsewhere or remain at Old Trafford.

Let’s hope that Declan’s comments on his involvement at West ham will persuade him to stay at the London Stadium.

Talking to Redknapp’s Big Night Out on Sky Declan said: “I hope he does (stay). I really hope he does. He has changed the squad completely.

“From the first session he is always brave on the ball, he is always on the half turn, he is always facing forward. That’s the player we needed.”

He didn’t change the team completely did he? We were doing very well before he came if you remember rightly. What he did was successfully fill the void that was left when we didn’t sign a striker, so that we didn’t miss Mickey Antonio too much during his injury spell. So he came in just at the right time with some much needed goals. We was doing very well first half of the season too though. Lingard replaced Haller and let’s face it even if he’d only scored a couple he would have done better than Haller. Completely change the team though? No.

It will of course be great if he signs for us, but we have to be realistic. We are not a one man team but a collective of players who together have scaled unimaginable heights under the management of David Moyes. I am sure David has a list of candidates ready should Jesse not sign with us. European football will make us a more attractive proposition for potential signings so if not Jesse then it will be somebody else. Those of you lucky enough to be at the match will have to cheer for the rest of us watching at home so raise the roof for our boys tomorrow and do us all and the team proud. COYI

This situation,in my mind, has been caused by the vast amount of money that was wasted by Pellegrini on over priced players with little or no sell on value.Along with the high wages and sacking compo that he got..I cannot stop thinking where we would be now if David had been kept on.It looks like that we cant afford him due to we need to strengthen in other positions.

He is an absolutely must get signed. Its just not his skill but also his infectious character, how he enjoys playing and he brings a winning mentality with him. If he does not sign because we decided not to pursue it then not only will I be very disappointed but it will be a massive mistake, especially if we qualify for the Europa league. I am not aware of anyone else who plays in his position and who we could sign that brings so much value add to the team,on and off the playing field.

Agree completely. He brings value that cannot be measured in just goals and tackles.
If anything additional, we need a Okay Yokuşlu to allow Soucek or Rice to have a break against some of the teams inclined to stretch the limits of fair play. He would give some of the opposing thugs something to think about other than maiming Lingard.

Keep rice, keep lingard bring in another striker another defender spend some money and put West ham where they belong at the top.
