Duo’s return good timing for the Irons

|

Tomas Soucek and Kurt Zouma look certain to return for the highly important Premier League fixture at Old Trafford this weekend.

The opposition will be looking to score what would be a massive victory over us given the relative league positions but the duo’s return is perfect timing for the Hammers.

We sit in fourth place with 37 points from 22 games whilst they have two games in hand on us with 32 from 20 so the stakes could be very high in terms of top four positioning at the end of the season.

It will be interesting to see who Moyes rests for this game following a Leeds scrap when one or two didn’t do themselves justice.

Soucek’s return from covid is clearly a big plus and after three goals conceded from what looked a weary central defensive partnership we will all be enormously pleased to see Zouma return.

This may be a good time to visit Old Trafford whose last four Premier League games have seen them draw at Newcastle, beat Burnley and be defeated by Wolves before Villa’s big fightback for a draw in their last game.

This may well be how the Hammers line up in a game:

Fabianski; Coufal, Zouma, Dawson, Cresswell, Rice, Soucek; Bowen, Lanzini, Fornals, Antonio.

He should rest Coufal for Ben Johnson if he is fit, Zouma will come in for Diop who had a shocker against Leeds, but he should play the full first team and go at 100 mph against quite a lazy side, smash them to pieces for 90 minutes and win every second ball, we owe them a pasting they are the luckiest team in the league for favourable results so we need to score at least three to negate the assistance they will be given by the officials and potential goals that result from that.

We are probably out of the top four race now, Tottenham will finish 3rd or 4th with Chelsea so it’s trying to finish 5th or 6th is first prize and to win the Europa League or FA cup.

Hope of course for a miracle in that race and a run of form all of which would be enhanced if we sign a player or two that lifts our level between now and the end of the season. Not sure if Brereton Diaz is that player but it would certainly lift us as fans to see that signing, or why not go for Toney from Brentford am sure he must be in the same price bracket.
