Emperor Moyes’ New Clothes?

|

Claret and Hugh follower Brian Gay questions the pundits about their mate Emperor David Moyes  who they may reckon is wearing new clothes.

Moyes must keep up the attacking intent

Emperor Moyesie New Clothes?

By Brian Gay

It seems the mainstream media are still questioning us Irons fans over the manager issue while seemingly backing David Moyes with impunity.

I read another piece where Jeff Stelling was questioning what we fans want while highlighting what Moyes has achieved.

Emperor Moyesie New Clothes?

The usual lines of league position and that wonderful night in Prague plus the regular European footie DM has brought us is the backbone of the professional pundits arguments against our unrest.

We know Moyes has a boring low possession defensive approach to football matches.

We know he likes to invite the opponents to come and have a go at his teams defensive solidarity and then nick a winner on the break.

It’s not an ideal watch but for many of us tolerable while it was effective bit this season in particular it’s failed dismally on too many occasions.

It would not be so bad if we had an impermeable low block but Moyes pragmatic approach has backfired into more multi goal drubbings this season than I can recall in 50 years.

For a pragmatic manager you’d at least expect a defence with more clean sheets than we have achieved.

So in my view the highly paid pundits should turn their skills in addressing why this is so.

How do the pundits explain these regular 3,4 5-0 reverses?

They should concentrate on asking why his tactics have backfired concentrating on the football itself rather than lambasting us fans who have to pay to watch these oh so too regular disasters.

Or is it that for their mate Moyes it’s a case of the Emperors New Clothes?

A good article but the so called pundits are beyond the average Hammers supporter with there comments about Emporer Moyes. Why, o why did he not walk away post Euro and claimed all the credit for ‘leading’ us to a cup against Championship standard clubs. I am a 6 decade old supporter and love the huge improvement that Moyes bought us but currently his antics and pathetic tactics show it will be all downhill from now. A spineless and money shy board dont help the club at all. Mark my words next season will see the pundits turn against and we will struggle for survival in the PL. Mibatch
