Everton’s Payet tormentor out of Irons clash

|

james-mccarthy-everton_3010249Everton’s James McCarthy – guilty of the most appalling scissor kick on Dimi Payet which put the Hammers maestro out for three months – will miss tomorrow’s game against us at Goodison Park.

And the Toffees will also have to play without Leighton Baines with both players remaining injured ahead of another season defining game for the Irons.

Manager Ronald Koeman confirmed the pair are injured for the 1.30pm clash at his presser.

Left-back Baines has missed the last five games with a hamstring problem and midfielder McCarthy has since sustained a similar injury.

Koeman said: “Baines is out and McCarthy is out”, said Koeman when asked about his team selection ahead of the weekend. “[James has] a slight hamstring problem that came after he played for Ireland.”

The ref for the game is the useless Anthony Taylor, despite his woeful record in games for us, Everton hate him even more and have lost the last 5 games he officiated for them.
