Fabullous Felipe launches us to ninth place

|

Saints 1 Irons 2

First the essentials – we are up to ninth place after our fourth away win of the season with an injury list now stretching into double figures.

Yet here we were on the south coast against a team enjoying a new manager bounce and getting a brilliant victory coming from a goal down via to two super Felipe Anderson goals.

We fell behind to one of the messiest goals of the seasons from Nathan Redmond and then scored two beauties low and high into the Saints net from the Brazilian boyo.

Not only did we show fabulous resilience but the victory came via some great West Ham Way football in which the likes of Anderson, Antonio, Rice Diop and Fabianski were superb.

Thank you Senor Pellegrini!

If  we can produce such a great passing game and score quality goals under a manager who only took charge just  19 games anything is possible for this team.

But it’s the fact that there are so many quality performers sidelined that leaves such an impressive reminder of just what sort of squad is being built at this old club of ours.

Yes, I’m excited, really excited. I have waited many years to see the club go back to the future and  remind me of those terrific West Ham teams of the past.

This was the perfect Christmas present and 15 points from the last 18 with Burnley and Brighton to come – oh yes my friends I could get used to this.

The boys have given us all a belated Xmas present and it was just what we needed after being unlucky imo on Saturday. The main thing to take is the spirit being instilled in the squad, despite the changes they keep giving their all for MP.
A belated Merry Christmas to Hugh,Sean and all the C&H faithful, hope you all have a great 2019
    COYI!

Ditto. My delight is how the manager has developed a squad (currently a bit thread bare) that are singing off the same hymn sheet. They are all playing their part and with Anderson we have the game winner. With quality players returning , the future is certainly looking very bright.
Just hope there is no slacking against Burnley, but after all we are WESTHAM so will take the draw. COYI

Very happy with the manner of the performance. We were on top all game and desperately unlucky to fall behind.Great how the lads came back.We would have lost this in the past but to come back like that shows great mental strength.Congrats to Pelle for instilling that.He has a lovely problem for the 2nd half of the season and that’s fitting in the injured players coming back and any new signings too.

I would say its the best we’ve played in a long while, we moved the ball quickly, kept possession well, were very good at pressing them and took our chances better than at the weekend, Anderson has started putting tackles in also COYI !!!
