Fan’s interesting starting eleven for Forest clash

Claret and Hugh follower Mr Buddy Lurve wants to see a change of formation at Forest this afternoon and produces an interesting starting eleven. What do you guys reckon.

I would like to see Moyes try something different, as we all would. I would opt for a 4-1-3-2 formation with:

Areola (1)
Emerson (3), Aguerd (4) , Dinos (5), Coufal (2)
Alvarez (6)
Kudus (7), JWP (8), Bowen (11)
Ings (10), Antonio (9)

I think Ings plays the 10 role better than as a 9, and whilst he doesn’t have the pace he once had, he can link up with JWP, in the hole, to feed out wide to Bowen and Kudus, and into Antonio. He could also feed off Antonio’s knock ons.

For me, JWP has to offer more in the centre of the park. He has great feet, but needs to look for the ball more.

Phillips can come on for the last 20 if JWP struggles, as can Soucek for Alvarez when he inevitably walks the tightrope. Mubama maybe to get his chance with 30 left when Antonio fades.

That would be my setup, along with a faster, ball on the ground, higher press style.

  • They say that trying the same thing over and over again for no result is a sign olof madness, Let’s hope Moyes departs from his usual thinking today.

  • Mr Buddy Lurve says:

Cheers, Hugh, but sadly Moyes knows best…

It was a decent line-up today, but let’s be real – Antonio looked done before his injury, and isn’t the answer, unless he has support. Ings is not the answer, unless he has support. Playing one up front, isolated, against athletic defenders is NOT THE ANSWER!

I just don’t get how a manager who is paid millions, and is surrounded by other top pros, continues to not see it, when all of us do. Are we really that stupid?

And can we give Phillips back early? I was chastised when I said he was an average player made to look good by Rice when he played for England, and now I feel vindicated. He’s no better than Soucek.

Really disappointing today, but feel strangely calm about it. Perhaps because it’s another nail in Moyes’s coffin? He’ll be there at the end of the season, and we’ll finish 12th, and another opportunity slips through our fingers. The board will need to be ready to replace him on the final whistle of the season with a high calibre, exciting new manager if we have any hope of Paqueta and Kudus being convinced that we’re not a lost cause…
