Fit again TC back at stadium with an Irons forecast

Tony Cottee was back at the at the London Stadium yesterday after his health scare and sends his thanks to all CandH readers from whom he has received best wishes.

He’s back at his fast-talking best and despite an average first half yesterday, he  loved the second and named Nobes and Declan as his joint men of the match.

Speaking exclusively to us he added: “Please let everyone know how grateful I am for their best wishes and what’s happening at this club is helping a lot.

To see where we have come from over the last couple of years is brilliant and it’s been a joint effort by the fans, board and manager.

“The board have invested but I reckon the fan reaction a couple of years ago provoked that in part. Hwever, fair play again to the board in appointing Manuel Pellegrini – great decision. So well done to everybody.”

TC believes that with Manchester United struggling,  Spurs having had such a poor start, Chelsea in transition and Arsenal, poor defensively, the way could even be clear for a top six Hammers finish.

He said: ” At the start we felt anywhere between seventh and 10th would be possible but ourselves and Leicester are the two to keep an eye on now – it could be top six.”

He wants a big Cup run and hopes that at least eight or nine of the team which played yesterday to be involved at Oxford on Wednesday evening.

He said: “A trophy, or at the very least a big Wembley day ou,t is so important and I’d keep much the same team because it really is a banana skin game and defeat would start all the anxiety again.

Oxford won’t want to see a team that’s just beaten Man United turn up so we will have a big advantage if we go that way from the start.”
