Hammers keeper Darren Randolph has flatly denied all suggestions the squad aren’t backing their boss and that there are any issues in that area.

Speaking ahead of the game against Manchester United this afternoon the Irons stopper said: “There is frustration. You look round the dressing room and see the squad we have and we shouldn’t be where we are.

‘It happens every season to a team, look at Chelsea last season. It is not easy to recognise what it is or that easy to fix.

‘It’s hard to put your finger on exactly what (has gone wrong). We are 100 per cent behind him.  There were no problems last year when we were winning games and we’re not going to turn our backs on him now. We are all together and there is no issue here with the manager.’

Randolph is ready for United and Wayne Rooney who is trying to become his club’s all-time top goalscorer being just one away from equalling Sir Bobby Charlton’s record of 249.

He said: ‘To be honest I don’t care. ‘He’s been around for I don’t know how long and scored how many goals. I don’t care who scores as long as we win.

‘We know it’s going to be a tough game with the players they have but they need a result in the league just as much as we do.

‘They are expected to be up there at the top and there is tremendous pressure on them as well.

‘When you go away you want to frustrate them and if you do that the fans get on their own team’s backs.

‘If we can manage to do that anything can happen. There are ways and means that you can beat any team.

‘You just need that little bit of luck as well and we just have to go there and compete.’
