West Ham’s hunt for a new striker has not been ended by the decision to seek a revised deal with Simone Zaza which will see the 14 game appearance clause dropped.
The chances of the club keeping the 25 year old on a permanent contract regardless of his second half of the season should that happen are zero.
Talks are proceeding with his parent club Juventus, who want to see Zaza playing some games to keep his value up rather than sit out the rest of season.
Ideally, the Hammers would be happy to release him from his loan deal in January should another club come in thus make a saving on his wages.
However, ClaretandHugh has been told this morning that the search for a top striker and right back will continue regardless of the Zaza situation.
The Hammers have been linked with Liverpool and England striker Daniel Sturridge and Wolves right back Dominic Iorfa.
And we were told that both had been discussed along with several others with an insider commenting: “We know what’s required and are leaving no stone un-turned.”
If I read this right, they just want Zaza to make up the numbers until the end of the Season – what’s the point of that?
The guy’s hopeless, an embarrassment – get rid!
Nope you havent read right
That headline should read inspite of Zaza,I think he showed what he’s all about against Spuds.Twice he and Dimi ran free two on two, once he passed it was too late, the other time he received the ball and let’s be kind and say he didn’t score. He was in the last chance saloon already. COYI
