Get moving Moyes – the job is only half done

|

If you are ready to take the praise then you have to be able to accept criticism when it comes along – even at the minor CandH level one learns that!

So let it be said that this window – whilst there is still time to do something – is currently a disaster given the requirements in the squad Mr Moyes.

When you are regularly throwing on the likes of Masuaku and Yarmolenko it must be 100 per cent clear that reinforcements are required. After all, understandably, no clubs have rushed into to sign them have they?

David Moyes has done a brilliant job so far but  it’s important to remember that’s only half done and in life generally it’s now how you start but how you finish!

We keep hearing the same story from inside the club – that the manager won’t buy players who don’t improve the squad.

All well and good but we need at least three players AND THEY DON’T HAVE TO BE BOUGHT. There is a loan system available which would allow us to plug a few gaps as is obviously necessary.

Nobody expects major signings at this time of the season but we do expect to have the squad covered and I’m beginning to despair that David Moyes will remain rigid in his thinking until the end of January. Nobody wants that to be wrong than me!

A couple or three more injuries before May and we are in a mess and are we really to believe that with Moyes introducing Rob Newman and developing a new scouting system nobody – but nobody – has been found since he started work in September.

Are we to believe also that there is nobody available on loan to cover for the likes of  Masuaku, the Ukranian, and Issa Diop or that there is no striker anywhere to help out until the end of the season.

If we sign nobody at all it will be the first time in the ownership history of GSB which demonstrates that they have indeed taken their hands off things.

If we are to finish in the top six we need reinforcements and the same applies to the Europa Cup – the “there’s no one better out” there doesn’t wash at this time of the year.

Moyes needs to move and fast!
