West Ham took the lead against Wolfsburg B in the U 23s International Trophy match within three minutes when Diallo won a free kick on the right Joe Powell’s in-swinging went  into the back post – and on into the net!

Winston Reid had marked his return to action for the first time in 19 months a minute earlier when calmly clearing danger after twice stepping over the ball inside his area-typical Winston.

However, the visitors were back on terms after Julian Justavin fired home a brilliant effort after 19 minutes. The Hammers, through Joe Powell and Anthony Scully, were causing problems but sadly Wolfsburg went ahead after Jesaja Herrman nodded home from a deep cross.

The Irons though were denied a possible penalty when Reid was barged from behind – oh for VAR!
Joe Powell continued to be prominent as he tried to drive the Irons forward and he was responsible for an equaliser right on half time when from a set-piece from Powell and Scully, the former chipped it into Scully who converted.
