  • Quickdraw Slaven a party says:

Hmm we’d have two or three managers now if we believed the bookies

  • bubs says:

That lots going to break the bank and kill our wage bill,we will only be able to have them and 10 other players,
    Payet no we keep Nolan
Gignac no we keep Magia and Zarate
Song yes we seem to need 20 midfielders and 10 centre halves
Remy no he always turns us down, same as Magia
Corluka yes he is free and the managers his mate,
Jenkinson yes the price is right and he does not want to live up north,
    Austin no to much money
    Johnson no wages to high
Hernandez no he will want to play in Europe

I’d think Nolan is surplus, no matter what personal opinions are. An old warrior.
Do well to keep Song. Does need to work on consistency. Players around him also need time to adjust to his, sometimes, brilliant vision that others are not on the same page with.Remy would be a good buy. As long as the double-Ds are Ok with Andy Ankles staying as an implact sub.
Jenkinson is a must, however, it would have to include a buyout clause at the end of the season. Truly a great player that may be let down due to the business side of it all
Hernandez – agreed about Europe…BUT…methinks he pines for the Prem.
Need to allow Zarate, Amalfitano, Downing, Song to form a good midfield relationship around Noble.
Sakho needs to drool over his potential strike partners and not fear he’s a lone soldier.
I think we need midfield options should he go 4-3-2-1 as indicated – especially if he wants a Plan B (4-4-2) and perhaps a 3-5.
Noble is still the industry/work rate that defines a strong West Ham spine and his pass rate is good.

Of course, hands are safe between the sticks. This season will be better than the last. (could not be much worse)

If the owners buy Cabaye, Payet, Gignac, Song and Remy I’ll go on a pilgrimage to St. James of Campostela… lol

  • bubs says:

Ex-pat your Midfield Had no Kouyate or our new boy Pedro no Poyet,
I don’t think Noble is going to make the team,
With a new creative midfielder plus Kouyate and Pedro plus Song and Downing
That leaves Alfitano or Jarvis out wide at the moment
Then you have Valencia or Zarate to play around Sakho or Carroll
You still have Lee and Magia or another to fit in
We need to ship out some dead wood now before we bring in new and find out how much we have to spend

    • ExPat_Hammer says:

Unfortunately, for me, I’ve not seen enough of Poyet (thanks, Sam) and I’m not familiar with Pedor. Kouyate, though…hand slap for not mentioning him! Played brilliantly (of course, not enough, though). Was also thinking that Downing would be one of the two attacking mids, more centrally.

I did not think that Jarvis did a poor job out wide, so I am fine with that appointment – as long as there’s known good cover behind him.

Caroll has a long way to go to match fitness. Got to find a way for him to stop jumping about, twisting his body and landing awkwardly.

Reece did just fine to provide defensive cover and am very pleased to see him come through. With any luck, Poyet gets the chance to really provide some midfield options. Would love to see an industrious midfield that he highly rotated.

  • IronsEssex says:

Nolan, Jarvis and Maiga out maybe even 1 more – toss up between Zarate and Downing
A right back, Payet, and Remy in
Why buy Cabaye if we’re going to sign Payet they are the same type of player.
I’d personally prefer Delafou (or however it’s spelt) over this Payet fella, costs a third of the price and IS proven in prem league from his time at Everton.
Id prefer Corluka over Jenks as well at right back, we need a full time player not a loan costing us silly money

  • Dangermouses Bros says:

Deliaflour or whatever he is called is going back to Everton i read today!!

  • Dicksyland says:

Give me Cabaye out of that lot and I’d be over the moon.

  • bubs says:

What happened to the 3 players Slaven rated from his previous side,
The creative midfielder was supposed to be great and cheaper than Payet
And the 2 wide lads one of them would be cover or in before Downing,
Austin or Remy are a must then weather we keep Carroll is not important,
Sakho and Valencia with Lee and Zarate would be enough up front
