Hammers come clean on defender reports

|

West Ham have responded to reports that they are keenly interested in Sheffield United defender John Egan.

Indeed, one or two of them declared that they had made inquiries during the January window but that David Moyes and Rob Newman had been unable to reach an agreememt for him,

The story originated in a report from national newspaper journalist Alan Nixon but according to our insiders these are totally inacurate.

The report states that the Hammers are now considering a £12 million bid for the experienced defender’s services when the transfer window reopens in January .

A report from The Express during the late stages of the recently closer summer transfer window stated that Leeds United were looking into a late deal for the defender, however, nothing materialised.

However, the Hammers have no interest whatsoever with CandH’s key source explaining to us: “We have seen all the stories. They are simply untrue.”
