Hammers fly out to Austria

|

West Ham players have reported to Rush Green for a morning training session before flying to Austria this afternoon.

The Hammers have a four-day trip to Arnautovic’s homeland, where they will be based in the Alpine town of Kitzbuhel at a five-star hotel with stunning views of the mountains.

Arnautovic told WHUFC.com  “It’s nice to be there, as it’s a beautiful country and a beautiful city where we’re going as it’s in the mountains. We are not there long, just four days, and we have two games and we’ll try to get the best out of it and try to enjoy it and then come back and be focused on the game against Liverpool.”

The Hammers face  FSV Mainz 05 on Tuesday night with a kick off of 5.30pm in the Betway cup at Silberstadt Arena in Schwaz with a capacity of just 3,000.

This Friday they face Angers SCO also at 5.30pm at the 4,000 capacity Das.Goldberg-Stadion in Grödig.

For once I’m glad we haven’t travelled all over the world for pre-season. However I look at the quality of teams Man City, Man U, Liverpool, Arsenal etc have played pre-season and wonder if they may be better prepared than us for the off?
Still really excited for the first time in a while for the start of the season. Not carried away but hopefully some quality, entertaining football is coming ⚒️⚒️⚒️

I would sooner have had our pre-season, while Man U/C, Liverpool, Arsenal etc. have played better teams, all are depleted through late returns from the WC – personally cannot see any benefit to them being in the US or wherever, and what with the window closing early too it makes more sense to stay closer to home!
It’s been a good summer, looking forward to seeing the new arrivals and fuller squad in action. COYI

It’s all looking very promising . The complete squad should at last begin to train together .
For once we have a selection and system headache ,,, very welcome imo .
This squad of geometry pieces coming together under Pellegrini should be interesting to say the least .
If we could get Olivier Giroud into the mix it’s a no brainer for me and it would wrap up the summer transfers with a rose coloured bow .
