Hammers head race over Arsenal to sign striker

|

henryWest Ham has moved ahead again in the race to sign striker Henry Onyekuru from Belgian club KAS Eupen, say Sky Sports in a new report.

They claim the 20-year-old Nigerian is due to fly to England with his agent on Monday June 12th for talks with a number of interested Pclubs.

Seven Premier League sides – including West Ham, Arsenal, West Brom, Everton, Crystal Palace, Bournemouth and Swansea City – are said to be in discussions to acquire the teenager according to his agent.

Last Month Sky reported that Arsenal were favourites to sign Onyekuru with the player’s representatives. The player has previously claimed he was a boyhood Arsenal fan.

English clubs can trigger the release clause in Onyekuru’s contract by paying £7.85m and wages of £35,000 a week, while clubs abroad can sign him for £6.85m.

Owngoalnigeria.com previously claimed in May that West Ham had agreed a fee for the scorer of 23 goals last season. At the time that report our senior source at the club said: “The report is not true. We are not sure the player can make the jump to the Premier League.”

At 7-8m he looks worth the punt if we sell snodgrass. However, we still havent bought anyone anywhere near payet’s quality.

I would love to see us sign barkley since theres a bit of a contract saga at everton. I really feel he would add great balance to our side. His presence and athleticism would take the pressure off defensively for noble. We’ve lost strength on the ball since payet left and the link up play that lanzini and payet had. I can imagine henry o bringing in cresswell overlapping too many times, which was a great mechanism for us. However, I like the sound of bringing a wildcard like him off the bench.

I think we need some english steel in the dressing room as the season before last we appeared to have better camaraderie with players like tomkins and nolan in the team.

    Ihaneacho
    lanzini barkley antonio

On a bigger ***** I would love to see ihaneacho able to use his pace. However, the thought of ihaneacho, henry o, lanzini and antonio just looks too lightweight for me.
