Hammers King bid rejected

|

Guardian journalist Ben Fisher claims West Ham have had a £13m bid for Joshua King rejected by Bournemouth.

Bournemouth’s valuation for the 28-year-old is a lot higher meaning the chance of signing him before the October 16 deadline is seriously slim.

Along with that is the issue of him playing second fiddle to Michail Antonio plus there apparently remains interest from Manchester United although manager Ole Gunnar Solsjkaer’s position may be a problem.

King, in fact, started at the Old Trafford academy as a sixteen-year-old before moving to Blackburn Rovers in 2013 for £1m, later joining Bournemouth in 2015 on a free transfer.

He has made 171 appearances for the Cherries scoring 50 goals, nine of them last season in 33 appearances before Bournemouth were relegated.

He has failed to feature this season failing to make the matchday squad except for one cameo role against Norwich City in the Championship when he came on a substitute.

However, that may be to save him from any injury problems given questions over his future

Man utd have about 5 forwards in front of him why would they want him? 10mill max and he is a good signing… 6 months and he goes for for free?? ⚒️⚒️⚒️

Sorry but if true then good, way to much money and money best either saved or spent elsewhere. If we are after the likes of medicore players like King then why sell Hughill? I rather they spend money on Rush green TBH.

Really dont get offering that kind of money for him ,,its so obvious they wouldn’t accept and offer that low …just a waste of time and effort..what’s the point ….not that I would want him ..its just the way we do business…
It’s why we struggle..because we alienate clubs with such insulting offers..imo
