Hammers make Balbuena red card decision

|

West Ham will appeal the red card handed out to Fabian Balbuena.

The Paraguayan was the victim if the most ludicrous decision since Tomas Soucek fell foul of Mike Dean against Fulham when his red card was ultimately overturned by the FA.

And yesterday’s piece of nonsense should definitely receive the same outcome after a red card which has you wondering whether officials have ever played the game.

To send someone off because they kicked the ball with real power to clear a dangerous situation and catching a player with the follow through as a result is as ridiculous as it gets.

And we understand that having reviewed the situation last night and heard David Moyes refer to it as a “rubbish decision,” the club has already, or will be, sending the FA an e-mail alerting them of their intention to appeal.

Balbuena, like Soucek at Fulham, enjoyed a decent game and although the card had no effect on the final result, only one decision can surely be taken by the FA arbitrators.

Refereeing has been rubbish, var laughable everytime we get a foothold the officials shoot us down, at Newcastle for example,Craig Dawson commits his second bookable offence ref waves play on ultimately Newcastle score and then he red cards Dawson!! Surely that’s double jeopardy we have been punished twice for the same incident, if that offence is deemed as bookable and his second then the referee should of awarded a foul sent him off then played on but no ,then yesterday we start to have a go back at Chelsea, balbuena clears a ball and is sent off before all this earlier in the season soucek unentangles himself from another player and is sent off, ok refs are useless we all know that but those three incidents cost us as a club

It is a rubbish decision , should be overturned, I wonder if that would have been given the other way . So called big clubs seem to get these decisions. You say it had no effect but surely it would have given us a chance to push forward for an equaliser. Oh well onwards and upwards COYI ⚒

Dont forget the shove on Ognonna during the 3rd goal at newcastle. They dont want West Ham in the champions league, but the lack of striker ootions has killed us.

Balbuena never once took his eye off the ball and took the ball cleanly. Chilwell, arriving late, then clattered into Balbuena’s foot on the follow-through. Nobody’s fault, just a 50/50 collision which is part and parcel of football.
I read comments from Andy Townsend and Jason Cundy (who you ask !) claiming it was a red-card all day long. These two fall into Moyes’s criteria of people who have never played football making shocking decisions. Messrs Townsend and Cundy did play a form of football, but at a very mediocre standard….quite pathetic!

There should be a change in 5he law so that every successful overturning of a red card gets a pp8nt added., maybe 2.
Absolutely ridiculous that we lost the chance to equalise. The last 10 minutes went so flat and it could’ve been a barn stormer but for a rubbish decision where there is no accountability for mistakes.

It’s a laughable decision that affects us, because we might get the red card rescinded, but we cannot get the 15 minutes back when we ‘might’ have done something.
Also the cynical pull back by Christensen on Lingard , that was another potential game changer, but somehow only merits a yellow !
Too many instances of players deliberately taking someone out ( happened in the Liverpool match yesterday when Fabinho did something similar), without any attempt to play the ball and we get penalised because Chilwell turns his back as Balbuena clears.
The game is going mad !!!
