Hammers up Carvalho offer – deal close

West Ham are ready to go back in with a second 30 million euros offer for William Carvalho after Sporting Lisbon rejected their opening offer.

The Irons had opened their negotiations with a 27 million euro bid which was around Β£10million euros short of the midfielder’s Β release clause.

Having had that turned down, the Irons have been quick to do the sums and are now set to go back in with an offer of 30 million.

They will make up the remainder in add-ons to Lisbon who are still negotiating with goodwill knowing their 25 year old star is determined to get away.

Indeed, ClaretandHugh understands he has agreed personal terms of Β£2.5 million a year (around Β£55k a week) with us and is ready to agree a five year deal.

So close is the deal that Carvalho is set to be pulled out of tomorrow’s home game against Vitoria Seubal aftetr making it clear that he wants his future settled.

Amazing … would be a big step up and big statement … if he signs our starting 11 is starting to look pretty formidable!!

  • Frenchie says:

Agree ReggieHammer, what was already a very good transfer window for us would turn it into a brilliant one! Infact if it comes off for the money we’ve spent no other team in the Premiership can match it for value for money.

    • West Ham Fan No 32 says:

True Frenchie it will be seen in the same light as the Tevez / Mascherano window for me, in retrospect like the Payet / Lanzini window although to be honest I didn’t know much about either before we signed them they were both great players. When I watched sky sports transfer centre the guy said he was not a West Ham Fan but even he was excited about the transfer of Carvalho to us if it came off πŸ˜„πŸ˜„πŸ˜„

  • iron surfer says:

He reminds me of Alex song ,hold on to the ball and releases forwards with accurate passes

  • West Ham Fan No 32 says:

If they do remove him from the league game and we can get this sorted before the CL game he is due to play next week that would be great COYI!!!

      He’s not playing g 32 , he’s in the stands ?
      Watching as I type πŸ˜‰ 0-0

  • WakeTheWolf says:

What a signing this will be.
No doubt he will walk straight into the team.
    But… who gets replaced?
    Obiang? Noble? Kouyate?
    Obiang is decent…
    Noble is captain
Kouyate is full of energy and is box to box.

  • Tony Hammer 61 says:

Carvalho is not in the Sporting Lisbon squad for their league game tonight. That speaks volumes.

  • Hammerkip says:

This is good ..but let’s get it done before someone else offers full price ..come on u irons

  • dipz says:

He would be a fantastic signing to already an impessive window. Nobes has to be a bench player now, we are missing a player who loves the ball and can control the tempo of our midfield, someone who can make killer slide passes and interchange with lanzini. I think we can upset united on the opening day.

  • Lazurus. rises like a salmon says:

Well after watching the gooners and fox,s anything is possible lol πŸ˜‰

  • dipz says:

    Hart

    Zabaleta. Ogbonna. Reid. Creswell

    Kouyate. Carvalho

    Antonio Arnautovic

    Lanzini

    Hernandez

    • TRB says:

I’d have Masuaku at left back. Then there’s the bench to consider, seven from these – Adrian, Byram, Cresswell, Collins, Obiang, Noble, Fernandes, Ayew, Sakho and Carroll.

There’s finally some depth to the squad without even bringing in the youngsters like Trott, Cullen, Rice, Oxford, Holland, Burke, Quina, Martinez, Samuelsen and Haksabanovic

  • dipz says:

Possibe bench players. Obiang, Noble, Carroll, sako, ginge, adrian, masuaku, aywe, fonte, martinez, fernandes, now thats a squad who should be top 7

  • aol says:

He’d be a great signing but I think we need another striker. Take Hernandez out and we’re back to square one.

  • timsteruk says:

Still time to pick up another striker and probably abit of money too. Sounds like they are trying to keep 10-15 back hopefully for another one up top, or is that asking too much ! If Sak stays fit he will provide real competition for the little pea

  • essexirons says:

    Things are looking good πŸ™…
What has made us attractive this summer? Has the penny finally dropped that if we want to compete we have to stop being pikies?

  • No Nonsense says:

H’mm smells like another marquee signing story to me, offer 10m below sell off clause dont sound much like being serious. More hype, smoke and mirrors from our owners who I think have only have a net spend of !0m this season. So with last years snake transfer surplus my maths add up to not spending anything this year. I suppose after paying the interest on the 2 Davids club loans we are yet again cash strapped.while the board rakes in the sky high interest payments. .

    • essexirons says:

Are you for real? We got rid of all the dead wood & replaced them with top signings all with PL experience. Imho what the club have managed to do without wasting Β£m’s is fantastic along with a few of the youngsters are also being given a chance. Where is the smoke & mirrors? Should the club go out & buy a load of crap like last summer just for the sake of spending the money or buy better players & be able to afford the higher wages it takes?

      • Gaz says:

You’re wasting your time Essexiron. Some fans love the term smoke and mirrors these days. They must have read it in a womans magazine somewhere and think its trendy.Funily enough the chaps on Soccer Saturday where just saying how Bilic has been backed by the board and signed some very good players.
Nosense knows better though of course.
Banking expert who thinks 7% is a sky high interest rate lmao.

        • No Nonsense says:

Both Chairman have loaned the club Β£49.2m in share holder loans which have accrued approximately Β£12.3m in interest calculated at rates between 6-7%.

Β£12.3m not exactly living wage money is it.

  • Gaz says:

Yeah if you say so Nosense.

  • Lazurus. rises like a salmon says:

Pay what he’s worth or there’s a possibility of being g gazumped πŸ˜‰
