Iron can leave when replacement found

|

robert_snodgrass_21-07-2014_1West Ham remain keen to bring in Hull City’s Robert Snodgrass as Roma hover over Sofiane Feghouli.

The Italian club are keen to land the Algerian winger although the Irons won’t let the player go until they have found a suitable replacement.

And Snodgrass, 29, with 12 goals in all outings this season, is the player the Irons want as they continue with the “buy British” policy.

Roma understand that until a replacement is found for their Hammer target there is little point in making a formal approach although we are happy to consider offers for the player.

The Hammers have made one £3 million bid for the player and are ready to go as high as £5 million but have laughed off suggestions that they could be interested in throwing Ashley Fletcher into a player plus cash deal.

The way we are faffing around expect Palace to come in and gazump us not only for him but Hogan also. He would definitely improve our options especially if Antonio is playing back up striker. All the talk about Michy Batshuayi is probably a load of rubbish, if we want him offer Chelski their money back on him, likewise I think we should so something similar with Jannsen at Spuds test them out. I have no clue what right back options we are looking at all seems very quiet on that front. There are rumours we are after Fonte at CB which on paper seems an odd move, he is 32 would want a big salary which might screw up the other options when you take FFP into account, more likely he will end up in the Far East than the East End imo.

I might be well wide of the mark but i aint so loved up with Fletcher as others.I will make my Radai bold prediction that he is going to turn in to a very good Championship level striker but no more than that.Of course i will be wrong as i always am lol 😂😂

  • Hammer64 says:

Agree with comments on Fernandes. Not so sure about Fletcher. He can play, but looks a bit slow to me. But impossible to know until he has a proper run in the side. That’s the problem. We all want young players to be given a chance, but they are such a risk when you have screwed your season up. If we were sitting on 30 points to you can pass on the TW rip offs and try kids.

  • mooro66uk says:

Until you log a bid you don’t know what they value him at.You must have a starting point.

  • Radai Lama..Out of contract & available says:

Thats great in principal ironwatch but you need Hull to want to sell him as well. They know his importance to their side so they aint just going to roll over & flog him 😁

  • ironswatch says:

if we want this guy just ****en pay the money all this 3 mil bid **** just pay up and get him in

  • CondorHammer says:

Apologies for being OT, but have just read Francois van der Elst has passed away.
    Great player!
Condolences to his family and friends.

    • sleepswithdafishes says:

I second that great player. RIP Francois

    • Radai Lama..Out of contract & available says:

I never saw him play,im still a relative youngster lol.Sad news though, i have seen clips of him before & he looked quality 😉

      • sleepswithdafishes says:

I saw him at the Hysel against us, but then I’m a 110 year veteren. LOL
Actually agree Rads, he was real quality, and did well for us, but I think he got homesick.

  • Long Fella says:

I dont think Fletcher ever came in to the equation.Hull want forwards,we want Snidgrass so it made a nice headline in the papers.

  • sleepswithdafishes says:

Just seen news that we blocked Domingos Quina from going on loan to Glasgow Rangers. That seems to mean we see him as nearly first team material.
He and Fernandes are our future, and that could be sooner than later. Especially if Payet cries for a move.

    • Long Fella says:

Been on the bench a couple of times hasnt he.I have a lot of time for Fernandes i think he is go to develop in to a very good footballer

      • sleepswithdafishes says:

Yeah me too. He’s young and needs to improve his aggression and tackling but he is going to be a worldy.

  • sleepswithdafishes says:

‘ laughed off suggestions that they could be interested in throwing Ashley Fletcher into a player plus cash deal. ‘ aaaaaaaahhhhh music.
I like Snodgrass too, and just what we need in the short term.

  • essexclarets says:

We should be keeping Fletcher, showing a lot of promise. The kid hasn’t been given a fair chance to show what he can do & won’t get match fit sitting on he backside every week

  • Colin Irons says:

Good player is Snodgrass i wanted him & Jon Howson when they were at Leeds.I would still take him now.
