Irons cool on Manchester City defender

|

Micah-Richards_4West Ham are unlikely to become embroiled in an auction for Manchester City defender Micah Richards

The on loan Fiorentina right back s has admitted he wants to come back to the Premier League but probably not with Manchester City.

Speaking to Sky Sports he said: “I don’t think [I’ll go back to City]. I think it’s in the past now.Obviously I’d love to play for them again, but they have so many players, the budget is so high.”

“It’s a lot more defensive (In Italy), teams just come and try and get a point. The Premier League is more fast and furious, a bit more entertaining. Here some teams just accept defeat.”

West Ham were reported to be chasing the player last summer but a well placed source told ClaretandHugh today: “He’s expensive at around £70k a week remembering that he hasn’t played that much and has been injury prone.

“Obviously we will be linked with central defenders given Winston Reid’s position but it’s too early to discuss really.”
