Irons eyeing lower-league star

|

West Ham are eyeing up a potential move to sign Alfie Bendle from AFC Wimbledon, according to the Daily Mail.

The 17-year-old has impressed during his time with the lower-league club, and is beginning to make an imprint on the first-team.

He made his debut last season in the final game of the campaign and has already played five times this term.

Bendle is primarily coming off the bench for Wimbledon at this point and that has opened the door to potential suitors up and down the league pyramid.

The Hammers are said to be eyeing a potential swoop, while Championship clubs Swansea City and Watford are also said to be eyeing a potential swoop.

He is said to have a small buyout clause in his contract and it is likely that Wimbledon will demand that figure be met.

It is unclear how much the buyout clause stands at, but it is unlikely to be out of the Hammers’ reach.
