Irons loanees ruled out of third round

|

ReeceburkeBolton Wanderers will be unable to field either of their West Ham loanees Reece Burke (right) and Josh Cullen for the third round League Cup clash against the Irons at the London Stadium.

The pair joined the newly promoted Championship club on a season long loan this summer but under the term of the switch are blocked from appearing against their parent club.

Wanderers overcame Sheffield Wednseday 3-2 in their second round match on Tuesday evening having beaten Crewe 2-1  (away) in their opening game in the competition.

However, their League form since promotion has been less encouraging and they are yet to win having drawn twice and lost one which has left them third off bottom in the Championship.

Wanderers manager Phil Parkinson will be looking for a morale boosting win at the London Stadium but Slaven Bilic and the squad will feel confident they have sufficient to overcome his side.

I notice neither were involved in the previous round even on the bench, I hope that reflects an agreement rather than their form.
