Irons make their FA appeal decision

|

images (2)West Ham will appeal the Football Association’s decision to charge them with failing to control their players during Saturday’s match against Chelsea.

The game’s ruling body West Ham brought the charge after the players reacted to in the 44th minute of the game following the incident which saw Chelsea’s Matic sent off.

Chelsea were charged with the same offence for an alleged breach in the 45th minute of the game.

A club source made it clear this evening that the appeal was almost being lodged on appoint of principle claiming it was always hard to win and appeal with the FA.

He said: “Everybody in the club believes we have a very strong case but very few win in these circumstances. However, let’s be fair, not one of our players even received a card.

“We were fined £50k the last time we were found guilty so if we lose we’re likely to get hit with around £75k this time.”
