The big question now – outside of whether we dare to dream about a Europa Cup triumph and qualify for the Champions Cup is whether we can made the top six and qualify for the competition next season.
Arsenal look nailed on now but that sixth place looks a straight fight between ourselves, Manchester United, Spurs and Wolves .
Despite everything and some tough matches to face in the final games of the season here’s how it may just work out as the season goes top its nail biting end.
Here’s the fixtures with CandH’s estimated points for each club from their remaining games.
Spurs currently in fifth with 51 points would finish in fifth on 70 points
v Newcastle (h) 3 pts
v Villa (a) 1 pt
V Brighton (h) 3 pts
v Brentford (a) 3 pts
v Leicester (h) 3 pts
v Liverpool (a) 0 pts
v Burnley (H) 3 pts
v Norwich (a) 3 pts
That would see the Spuds finish on 70 points in fifth
Manchester United currently on 50 points would finish in seventh on 63
v Leicester (h) 1 pt
v Everton (a) 3 pts
v Norwich (h) 3 pts
Liverpool (a) 0 pts
Arsenal (a) 0 pts
Brentford (h) 3 pts
Brighton (a) 1 pt
Chelsea ( h) 1 pt
Palace (a) 1 pt
West Ham currently in seventh place on 48 points would finish in sixth on 65
v Everton (h) 3 pts
Brentford (a) 3 pts
Arsenal (h) 1 pt
Chelsea (a) 1 pt
Burnley (h) 3 pts
Norwich (a) 3 pts
Man City (h) 0 pts
Brighton (a) 3 pt
Wolves (in short) have Villa (h), Newcastle (a) Man City (h), Burnley (a) Brighton (h) Chelsea (a), Norwich (h) and Liverpool away from which we expect them to take 11 points and on a total of 57 points
IT’S FAR FROM OVER – COYI
An excellent analysis but I fear we will achieve 61 points but still finish seventh place. I hope your analysis is better than mine!!!
I agree: it’s possible, and we have everything to play for.
Let’s hope that Brighton are at the beach on the last day of the season because they have been trouble for us in recent years.
