It’s official: Cresswell’s a Hammer

|

cresswellAaron Cresswell is tonight a west Ham United player!

David Sullivan’s son Jack made the worst kept secret of the day official when tweeting a few minutes ago: “Aaron Cresswell, PFA championship team left back is now a WHU player.”

Cresswell’s arrival had been anticipated since mid afternoon when reports filtered through the player was at the Chadwell Heath training ground.

Now it’s official but that may not be the end of competition for places on the left side of the back four.

A well placed Upton Park source told ClaretandHugh exclusively: “We really need two of them.”

And he added: “We have been doing good business. It’s a relief to get that one sorted and now we are pursuing other targets.”

    Simply great news!
We’ve seem to have stumbled on the right deal if in a rather long winded way!

He seems a great buy who is young and full of English potential! I just hope he can adjust to the step up in class!

Finally I am intrigued by the last paragraph which hinted at more defensive signings?
I was under the impression that it was at centre half sheer we were still looking to strengthen? Also how would any further defensive signing impact on our ability to attract more attack minded players?!

However all intrigue apart, I am very happy with the business we have done so far. We seem to be more organised and focused this window and it appears to be paying off with the quality signings we are making.

    Long may it continue! COYI!

Cresswell is a very good defender, young & fit. He will step up to the Premier League & do well. Ipswich supporters were gutted to see him go. Good long term signing of a player with loads of potential.
