Let’s go out on a high lads – you owe us that!

The skip says we can play with more freedom now …let’s see it

David Moyes and the Hammers still owe us!

Amid all the relief of survival let’s not forget this has been as bad a season as most of us can remember at all sorts of levels.

Now free of all worries, we meet Manchester United and Everton at home and given the level of performance we have seen whilst anxiously clawing out points it’s time for a payback with two displays to take the bitter edge of this awful season.

Mark Noble has made it clear in a post match interview that once free of such anxieties the team can play with far more freedom and that’s what we will be expecting … and what our amazing fans deserve.

All season there have been these declarations from the club’s media department  about sticking with the team – AS IF WE WOULDN’T. Now it’s the squad’s turn to give us 180 minutes of pure football.

There are some players who won’t and  shouldn’t be here next season but we’ll come to that later.

We need to beat United – a team which traditionally we have never liked – and as for Everton with old Allardyce in charge , they just have to be beaten.

I can think of no worse way of ending the campaign than by being beaten by him of all people.

So come on you Irons – let’s go out on a high! Like I said…you still owe us.

It’s not over yet . We can still be overhauled by either Southampton or Swansea if one of them achieve 39 pts and we lose our remaining games . We need Southampton & Swansea to draw . OR we get ONE more point over our next two games . Not trying to be negative , but that’s the mathematical reality .

    • Mary Millingtons Ghost says:

Kevin, I’m not spending all day chasing you around the various posts on here, but I’ll give it one last try:
We don’t need any more points.
Both Swansea AND Southampton need to win both of their games to get 39pts (assuming we lose both of our games and end with 38pts).
However, as they’re playing each other on Tuesday, they can’t both get 3 points from the same game, can they?
If the draw on Tuesday, than get only get a maximum of 37 points.

      • kevin says:

But one of them still can . Do the math . Again , if the Southampton / Swansea game provides a winner that team will get 3 more points . If that same winning team then win Thier remaining game they shall have 39 pts . Good gracias. . It’s not that difficult to work out .

        • Cyprushammer says:

Kevin I think you are missing the point Swansea and Southampton play each other on Tuesday night. If the draw they can only land on 37 points each if they win there ladt game. If one team wins on Tuesday only one team can overtake us leaving one team below us. So it impossible for us to get relegated. Do the maths

          • kevin says:

But I have already said if Southampton & Swansea draw we have no worries ( read the first article) . You are now saying only one team can overtake us ! . 18th spot is still a possibility if things go south . If either Southampton or Swansea win on Tuesday night they will reach 36 pts . If the winner of that game then go on to win the last game they shall have 39 pts . We have 38 pts and if we don’t earn a point from our last two games we could be in 18th . I’m only talking mathematical logic , nothing else .
We still need either Southampton & Swansea to draw , which would settle it beyond doubt OR we earn a point over our last remaining two games .

If one team loses on tuesday they cant catch us therefore we are safe. West Brom and Stoke cannot overtake us so only one more team has to stay below us. Its not that difficult to work out.

Come on Kevin mate get a grip! You give pessimists like me a bad name……..even I don’t fear disaster if somebody can show me it is not mathematically possible.

On the last two games- you always want your own side to win but I don’t particularly hate Man U – less so than Man C. And no great desire to put one over on BS. I am just a bit concerned that if we now get up to 44pts, which is about the same as last season, the owners shrug and say that was not so bad after all. If it ain’t broke then don’t fix it ….All those protesting fans will forget about it over the summer. We buy a few donkeys in the August sales nobody has heard of then off we go again. Where we are now is about what we deserve, but sides who make a habit of cheating the drop eventually get caught out. I think next season is a real make or break. Don’t really care too much how this one ends up now. It has been a massive heap of you know what.

    • kevin says:

Not being pessimistic or negative , Hammer64 . Just trying to point out that we are all but mathematically safe . I have every faith that we shall get points over the next two games .
I also share your concerns for next season . We need some serious signings or it will be the same eternal struggle all over again . The Team has proved on various occasions it can play well and perform .. the fact that it isn’t consistent is the very reason we need to recruit wisely and maintain a steady ship . Moyes is starting to provide that stability and it would be a shame in my opinion to throw that emerging stability away . I say give him a chance .

  • Kevin. Listen – we are SAFE

  • whufcfan says:

    Calculator for Kevin!

  • Hammer64 says:

Oh no- I go away for a couple of hours & it is still going on. Look Kevin…no I give up. See you in thevPL next season mate. No I really will. God willing…

  • PB61 says:

Kevin, mate, look we are definitely 100% SAFE. There is no way we can be relegated. Stoke & WBA are down, that leaves 1 place. Even if we don’t get anymore points and stay on 38 there is no way BOTH Southampton and Swansea can catch us. This is because (like others keep telling you) they have to play each other. They cant both get to 39 or even 38! Lets says Swansea win, the most Southampton could then get would be 36 or vice versa. I hope this helps….but I somehow doubt it!

  • Hammer64 says:

This is a windup!! Ban him Hugh-😂😂😂😂

  • whufcfan says:

    Kevin, where are you?

  • Hammer64 says:

I certainly am. Best laugh I have had for a while…

  • Hammerkip says:

Oh believe me lads Kevin is not laughing he is dead serious you will not win an argument with him…he is a person. That if you have a black cat his would be blacker I have given up long ago with this one ..😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

  • Ooh hoo – Kevin come out or be banned LOL

  • bashammer11 says:

    Kevin
Look at the fixtures and table and then you might work it. DOH 🤣

  • kevin says:

SORRY EVERYONE , ESPECIALLY YOU MARY . YOU ARE ALL RIGHT . I couldn’t see the Wood for the Trees there . Don’t know how I missed it . It’s a massive relief to be wrong believe you me. . I’m laughing at myself now ,, what a Twonk .

    • Mary Millingtons Ghost says:

      Ha ha, no problem fella.
I did have a little chuckle at both the ‘but that’s the mathematical reality’ and ‘It’s not that difficult to work out’ comments.

  • Hammer64 says:

Don’t worry about it Kev. We are safe – at least for another year. For once we are not all arguing about Moyes, the tactics, the owners, Andy Carroll etc etc. Now we have got you sorted out normal service can be resumed tomorrow & we can start organising a protest march about something. Just repeat ten times – we have 38pts & there are at least three other teams who CANNOT GET 38 points. 😃😃😃😃😃

  • zahama says:

Happy that Kevin has now seen the light – I think that he forgot about West Brom due to the commentators saying taht tehy are not yet relegated (they will escape if Swansea and southampton draw with each other and then both lose and West Brom win by a sufficient margin to turn around a worse goal difference by -4 compared to Southampton (who could also get tonked by Man City)

On another topic I think Moyes has earned the right to talk to the directors and see if they can agree on a way forward for next season so we don’t have to be calculating the permutations at the same stage next year

We all have the right to say who we would like to stay and who we would like to leave (personally I would love Kouyate to stay and get back his form from two seasons back) – but that should be the manager’s call
