Lingard up for two awards

|

Jesse Lingard’s outstanding start to a possible long term West Ham United career has seen him shortlisted for two awards.

The on loan No11 has scored three goals and registered two assists in his first five appearances  and that has seen him nominated for the EA Sports Premier League Player of the Month and PFA Bristol Street Motors Fans’ Player of the Month awards for February.

Two goals in the 3-1 win at Aston Villa were followed by an assist  for Declan Rice’s opening goal in a 3-0 victory over Sheffield United on his home debut on 15 February.

He found the net again six days later  in the 2-1 derby success against Spurs before completing a memorable month by assisting Michail Antonio’s equaliser in the 2-1 defeat at Manchester City on 27 February.

Fernandes is among seven other players nominated alongside Lingard, with the shortlist being completed by Fulham defender Joachim Andersen, Leeds United forward Raphinha, Leicester City winger Harvey Barnes, Manchester City duo Joao Cancelo and Ilkay Gundogan and Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Ruben Neves.
