London Stadium WiFi now available

|

Hammers supporters have noticed that London Stadium Wifi is available today at the West Ham v Newcastle game.

Eagle-eyed fans noticed that ‘LS Free WiFi’ appeared on their mobile phones today.

Although not officially launched yet many supporters have already logged in the free service to take their minds off the dismal display by the team on the pitch with West Ham two-nil down at half time.

Stadium owners E20 signed a contract with O2 earlier this year with West Ham making a contribution.

O2 have rolled out the same Wi-Fi technology across Manchester City’s Etihad stadium, Real Madrid’s Santiago Bernabeu, Twickenham rugby stadium and the London Eye.

O2 has re-used much of the infrastructure left in the ground from the London 2012 Olympics as well as the existing fibre network but has installed a new mesh of Wi-Fi access points to allow a crowd of up to 60,000 to enjoy fast download speeds of up to 30Mb/s.

” … a new mesh of Wi-Fi access points to allow a crowd of up to 60,000 to enjoy fast download speeds of up to 30Mb/s.” About the only thing the home supporters will ‘enjoy’ at the moment …
