Manager sacked after West Ham defeat

|

Nigel Pearson has been sacked as Watford head coach with just two games of the Premier League season remaining after losing to West Ham on Friday night.

The Hornets hierarchy have acted following Watford’s 3-1 defeat at the London Stadium which left the club three points above the relegation zone going into the final week of the season. It is believed that Craig Shakespeare has also been removed from his position as an assistant manager. Former Hammer, Hayden Mullins along with Graham Stack will be in charge for the final two matches.  They both took over earlier in the season following the sacking of Quique Sanchez Flores

Pearson becomes the third head coach to be removed by Watford this season.

Bournemouth is currently losing one-nil top Southampton ina must win game to save the Cherries from relegation. After 11 years time may be running for Eddie Howe who has often been linked to a move to West Ham one day.

That has to be the most ludicrous decision of this crazy old season.Unless he has done something truly obscene over the past 2 days or laid out one of the owners it is hard to fathom why they have done this.I would still back them to stay up even if they lose their last 2 matches.Truly bizarre.

After West Hams form regarding managers it’s probably best not to comment .

  • Taffyhammer says:

Ludicrous indeed. I can only think that there is not much he can influence in the next couple of games and Claudio Ranieri should be given as much time as possible before taking Watford to the Premier League title next season. Deja-vu?

I have some connections and have heard an unsubstantiated allegations that Pearson punched Masina at half time in the game.

Remember that touchline bust up when he was at Leicester.Would not be surprised at all if he punched somebody as I mentioned earlier.

    Absolute Madness!!!
I actually believe that Pearson is a decent manager IF given the chance and his sacking at this stage truly doesn’t make any sense at all. This is the sort of unsettling mismanagement of a club that could see them crashing down the divisions. Pearson is the Third Watford manager THIS season!
