Report: West Ham youngster set to join Bayern Munich

|

West Ham youngster Benicio Baker-Boaitey is set to join German giants Bayern Munich according to a report in the Sun.

The tabloid claims the youngster will travel to Germany this week for talks about becoming the latest hot prospect to quit the Premier League for the Bundesliga. West Ham will lose Baker-Boaitey for minimal compensation to German giants Bayern Munich

The Irons could then get just £230,000 training compensation for the highly-rated England youth star.

Sixteen-year-old winger Baker-Boaitey snubbed the chance to sign professional terms at the Hammers when he turns 17 in January.

West Ham signed Baker-Boaitey from Queens Park Rangers. He made his debut for the club’s Under-18 team a little over a week after turning 15 last season and staff at Chadwell Heath have high hopes for the youngster.

Former Academy Director Terry Westley speaking to Claret and Hugh previously “Baker-Boaitey has already featured for the club’s youth side in the U18 Premier League and my advice to him you have no need to move lad. Yes, he is a mega-talented kid but to move at this age is far too soon.”

If they’re all going to turn out as ineffective and screwed-up as Jack Collison – best to go and receive tuition from people who want to see him do well and fulfill any potential they may have. £230k is not to be sniffed at – plenty of ‘Academies’ would be satisfied with that!
