Paul Merson has tipped West Ham to lose 1-0 at the weekend claiming that Tony Pulis’ West Brom are set to cope with the Andy Carroll threat.
Albion have been doing double training stints every day since a shocking defeat by Brighton when the manager’s legendary anger was on full display.
Merson believes he will get the reaction he wants and said: “West Brom were poor against Brighton, it was like they thought they would just turn up and not lose, but they were bad until they went 3-0 down.
“West Ham got a good result on Monday, but a lot for them depends on Andy Carroll. I think West Brom have the players who could cope with him.”
The Hammers will be looking to reverse a run of three defeats and will be on a revenge mission following the 4-2 defeat on their last visit to the Hawthorns.
ClaretandHugh sees it in precisely opposite terms with Carroll scoring the goal which will give the Irons a 1-0 win.

Pullis usually deals with AC well imo best to play Sakho and Hernandez up top give them pace to deal with instead of a one dimensional lump.
If not then stick with the formation and team from Monday and see how that goes.
Yeah the WBA offs might handle AC better, but we’ve a multiple scoring threat if we can get the ball to them in the right end of the field, so it’s not as simple as the gooner fatty suggests. bigger concern is keeping them out at the other end!

3 5 2 would be interesting but then again 3 4 3 was pretty good . Whatever Bilic decides to do we must go on the offensive from the first whistle . I think we might see Sakho make the start and when West Brom get tired of dealing with him and Antonio bring on Carroll to kill them off . Might be a good game for Hernandez though as West Brom tend to play high up .

I didn’t think the 3 up top worked at all keV, pea out on the left and not his natural position produced naff from him !! Was he supposed to pick up the knockons from the doll ? That didn’t happen did it, the lad looked lost to me !! I think he needs to play his poachers roll in a 2 with sakho and bring the doll on last 20 if were trailing , whatever side he picks they need to graft like they did on Monday , even if it was against a poor side , just show some bollarks ,
Don’t see why we launch up to carol for his aerial ability but don’t serve him from out wide to get a nut on goal and pea pick,s up the pieces, Antonio is trying his heart out with what appears freedom to go wherever !! Maybe a roll of delivering crosses down the flanks would be more suitable when carols on the park and let him do what he does best ! Only my opinion but when we havent got no creative players on the park that seems a plan to me, better than lumping it up from the back , 😉
