More new Irons arrivals on the way…

|

The Hammers summer transfer spree looks set to go on right up until the August 8 deadline day.

Blimey, we’ve not had as much fun in ages with quality arrivals appearing through the London Stadium doors almost since the window opened.

Ryan Fredericks was quickly followed by Lukasz Fabianski, Issa Diop and Jack Wilshere and now it looks certain that surprise signing Andriy Yarmolemko will be announced within hours along with central defender  Fabian Balbuena .

On top of all that it’s beginning to look more and more certain that Felipe Anderson is set for the east end with the London Evening Standard claiming tonight a deal could be done before the end of the week!

It could be a very strange looking team that takes the pitch at Anfield on our opening day because we understand that even should the club have signed the seven named above, the arrival of new faces may not be over.

We were told that beyond the players that have arrived and hopefully Anderson, a couple of free signings was also on the cards with midfield the area again under the microscope.

A CandH source said: “It’s clear that things have changed considerably because of the impetus put behind signings by the new manager and director of football. These are exciting times for the club and we are looking at a complete overhaul.”

If we sign the CH, Ukraine and Anderson, I still believe we need a top CM and another forward or if Arnie plays up top then another player who can play just off the striker. My preference is to play Arnie just off so I would love to see a striker come in. I believe Antonio will also have a big role to play so I hope he stays. It would be terribly wrong for Antonio to be sold and the likes of Carroll be kept.

Its easy to defend and justify a place in the squad for any one of the players that is going to be replaced in the first team but its about time we had a major overhaul. West Ham teams have always been half hearted during my many years as an attending fan. We play well in any specific game but then don’t turn up at all for many more games. I though we had turned the corner during Bilic’s first year but he turned out to be like Redknapp – a players pal. Those sort of managers do ok for a year or so then totally lose the dressing room as players take advantage. Is it totally stupid to believe that we are changing our culture at last?

Unless Pellegrini gets Cresswell and Masuaku to metamorphose, the left back issue is still pending solution. Diego Laxalt anybody ????

Very exciting if we do manage to get the signings especially if one of the freebies is Carvalho, would agree the left back is a position we could do with a better defender in as it looks like 4 at the back under Pelle.

I totally agree with your thoughts WHF#32-Carvalho would be a great addition. Pellegrini has been a total revelation!

What an amazing effect has Pellegrini had on our club..
Good players understand and appreciate the high quality of his management skills, hece their desire to up their digs and move to East London!
    Very exciting times..
In addition to all the exciting new signings, Pellegrini has not lost focus on the potential of our better U-23’s; a very early prediction-we could finish in the top 8 in the upcoming season.
In order to crack ‘the top 6’, we have to work out strategies of getting points against the following clubs (Man C, Man U, Spurs, Liverpool, Chelsea, and Arsenal) and making sure we win as many of the other games against the very good teams in the EPL.

If we are to play 4 at the back maybe he sees Rice, Oxford or even Diop as a CDM. If not we have an awful lot of centre halfs.

    • West Ham Fan No 32 says:

Yes I would imagine he sees Diop and Balbuena as his first choices not that I know but they are both solid defenders that can play, if there is truth in the rumours about Ogbonna he could be sold for £11m to Napoli, Oxford unless he improves dramatically, hard to see where he fits in, Byram will probably be loaned out, Rice may as you say move into CDM but then we supposedly have an interest in Sturaro at Juve who can fill the role or the freebie of Carvalho so many questions, also with all these new players it may take a while for them to gel it usually does, can he get Kouyate to be more disciplined, or Noble to read the game better, will Obiang stay ?
