More worries for Klopp as three miss training

|

Liverpool central defender Fabinho looks certain to miss the game

With Michail Antonio certain to miss tomorrow’s game  the focus now switches to Liverpool’s problems where Jurgen Klopp has more decisions to make about injuries than David Moyes .

Beyond having influential defenders Virgil van Dijk and Fabinho  missing, the Liverpool boss appears to have several decisions to make in other areas of the pitch.

It’s being reported that three players were definitely missing from the Mellwood training centre this morning as the manager looks to follow up the Premier League victory over Sheffield United  and the Champions Cup win over FC Midtjylland

It appears there was no sign of Joel Matip, Thiago Alcantara or Naby Keita training with the main group this morning and all three were absent from the Champions League squad.

Earlier in the week, Thiago had been seen working in some individual sessions – which may have been the case again for him and others.

But the manager’s comments on Tuesday evening suggest that no-one will be rushed back given the club’s current hectic schedule.

Kostas Tsimikas  and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are also unlikely to be available but Academy graduate Curtis Jones was joined by a number of youngsters including Nathaniel Phillips, Rhys Williams, Neco Williams and Jake Cain.

Despite the blow of not having our big man up front the hammers will travel in hope as we certainly have goals in us with Tomas Soucek always a threat in the penalty area.

And if Seb Haller – should he get the shout – step up to the plate, there’s really no reason to believe that all is lost and that we can’t take something from the game.

I certainly hope we are not getting “carried” away with our recent results which have been quite mind boggling to be honest in that Liverpool have quite a few injuries etc..
Missing Antonio is going to be huge in my opinion,(never thought I would say that, a year or so ago and would prefer if Haller doesn’t play ie Yarmelenko and Lanzini for me… I personally feel its easier to defend against a player like Haller unless he has someone alongside him… Liverpool still have an amazing front 3 and mark my words Mane will be a huge threat ala Kane for Spurs..Fingers crossed but not over confident COYI
