Moyes admits offers have been made

|

David Moyes has confirmed West Ham have already made big transfer inquires and made formal offers.

He insists the club is trying its best to sign someone to replace Sebastien Haller but warns he will only sanction incoming players who can make a difference and help the squad move forward.

He told reporters at the London Stadium after the Hammers 1-0 win over Burnley that he might have to look at a short term option to bring in another player on loan if he can’t sign the right quality of player permanently.

And he added he was ready to use young players from the West Ham Academy or other players from the first-team squad upfront.

One of those players could be Mipo Odubeko who was an unused substitute yesterdayb afternoon.

Yamolenko and Benrahma could also find themselves in a more forward position if required.

Moyes told reporters post-match “We’ve already made big inquiries and offers for players at clubs, which have not been accepted or obviously we would have signed somebody. It is not as if we are not trying to that, we have tried.

But I need to get players who I think can make a difference and I want it to be someone who I think can help us.

If I don’t then I might need to look short term, just to get me through to get me another player, but if not then I will use the young players or I will have to try and use someone else from the squad and see how we can do it.

But if Mick [Antontio] can gain his real form from where he has been in recent months then that will be a big thing for us and today he is getting closer. He got another 90 minutes, he got a goal, it’s what we really missed and we are glad to have him back.”

I hear Odubeko is a fine prospect and would love to see him sneak some minutes. Not very happy with Yarmo on for Bowen game after game – he does not have the energy in midfield but I feel he could sub for Mikey and play up top.
