In fairness his team produced the kind of performance which will have none of us complaining so long as it continue. That of course remains very much for the future – Everton will tell us a lot more than an injury-hit Brentford and Burnley should tell us nothing. It’s after that the real business starts.

In the meantime the manager was again questioned about his contract after the game and responded very differently to last week when he said there was an offer on the table. Instead he made it clear that he wasn’t bothered about contracts only the week to week aim to improve this great club of ours via results and that he was happy to wait until the end of the season for a new deal  to be discussed.

Moyes gave a  very laid back reaction to the media guy’s inquiry about this so called contract he had mentioned and gave him to opportunity to perhaps heal any differences his earlier remarks may have caused between the board and himself.

It is clearly the right way to go and there seemed more humility and common sense coming from him. Nobody likes aggression and “look at me ” attitudes so well done Moyesy for falling into line and putting the situation as it really was and is.
