Moyes eyes up central defender

|

LiamDavid Moyes is this morning reported as being keen to sign Reading central defender Liam Moore in the  January transfer window.

Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers is also keen on the 25 year old but the Hammers boss wants the England under-21 international who can also play at right back.

Moyes has already identified the back line as a problem where injured Jose Fonte and James Collins have reached the veteran stage.

And there have been regular question marks over Winston Reid’s form and fitness along with Angelo Ogbonna. Moyes will hope he is given the time to build from the back and make Moore an early signing as he bids to turn the ride which is flowing heavily against the club right now.

Stranded in 19th place, Reading may be ready to sell if they can get clear of relegation trouble and a bid of around £8 million could tempt the Championship outfit.

I’ve never seen him but if the scouts and Moyes agree on it, then get him in. If he does the basics right and is not prone to any Ogbonna type lapses, then we could get decent money for Ogbonna in the same window. I’ll settle for a young version of Ginge right now.

Decent money for a player who in you’re eyes is pants ?? He’s got 6 in front of him at the exit door !! Zabba , fonte , ginge , cresswell ,Reid , noble , ogbonna west hams mom on Sunday .

I am trrelieved that Moyes has identified the back line as a problem! That means he knows at least as much as me about football. Does he know how to put it right though?

  • Hammer64 says:

That should be relieved! I have not been hitting the bottle yet although felt like it after Sunday’s game. The last two years have not been good for my resolution to cut back on the jungle juice. I could try taking legal action against the owners.

I hope he’s identified the massive issue in midfield too.

Need to replace 3 of the back four especially reid. That header he done for their second goal was shocking. Also at fault for two of liverpools goals the other week. Trying to win balls he was never going to win got turned and left a big hole in the back line and we got punished. We need ginge back asap!!!!!!!!

    At least its not Kone.
And age is good not in 30s seem him in a couple games but don’t know much about him. But he can cover RB too which as been a troubled spot for us for years. Think him or other CBs in championship are good wat to go, & Stamp knows how to defend.
I’d have him. I think Ogbonna could be sold off with Serie A interest
