Moyes forced to ring changes at Luton

|

Tomáš Souček having suffered a head injury at Brighton last weekend will miss the Friday night game at Luton Town as a result. Under the seven day rule – the Czech Republic international will be forced to sit it out as we take on the Hatters.

David Moyes, however has James Ward-Prowse, Edson Álvarez, Lucas Paquetá and Pablo Fornals available and it would be nice to see the wholehearted Spanish international get his chance to impress.

The manager revealed the news at his pre-match presser explaining the club was forced to cover the Premier League protocols.

The manager said: “Tomáš Souček is not available from the team who played last week.”

James Ward-Prowse scores at Brighton

Ward-Prowse, meanwhile, has enjoyed a fine start to life in east London. The former Southampton man assisted two goals on debut as the Irons defeated Chelsea 3-1, before opening the scoring in the victory against Brighton by the same score line.

Moyes had no doubt that the 28-year-old would settle swiftly at his new Club, having racked up 343 Premier League appearances for the Saints prior to his summer move.

The manager said: “James has played two really good games and we hope that continues and we see more of the same.

“One of the reasons we brought James Ward-Prowse here is because of his Premier League experience.

“He was the captain of Southampton for a long time and he was a loyal player for them too. He’s settled in really well for us and he goes about his business exactly how you would expect from him.

“He’s created goals and scored a goal, and we’re really pleased with how he’s doing.”

The manager, though is unhappy that the Irons are being forced to play on deadline as we are still in the market until the last minute but that but our game being on deadline Day makes it difficult for himself and the team to be involved in anything because we’ve got a game to prepare for.

Might be a blessing in disguise that it allows him to play Benrahma again or Fornals on the left wing.

  • Dalkirst says:

    So 1 change then?

  • Buster says:

Our starting XI might then look like this……Areola – Mavropanos – Zouma, Aguerd, Emerson – Alvarez – Bowen, Ward-Prowse, Paqueta, Kudus, – Antonio

Subs from Fabianski, Johnson, Coufal, Kehrer, Ogbonna, Cresswell, Fornals, Cornet, Benrahma, Ings, Mubama,
