The seemingly imminent arrival of Nayef Aguerd from Rennes looks certain to ensure that Issa Diop will be on his way out of the London Stadium.

Diop’s position at the club has been in the balance for some time and he may now be used to balance the books with Aguerd now close to a deal.

The 25 year old’s position has been clearly as a fourth central defender under the manager and with Zouma, Dawson and probably Aguerd available the Diop could could well be returning to France where he is fancied by several clubs.

Moyes is being regularly reported to be ready to let the player leave who had cost the Hammers £22 million from Toulouse.

The player has made just 13 Premier League appearances during 2021-22 and it might have been less, had it not been for a season-long knee injury sustained by Angelo Ogbonna. The Italian is now back fit for 22-23.

But Moyes has seemingly never been convinced by Diop – a player West Ham spent £22million and the London Evening Standard are also claiming the Hammers are ready to ‘listen to offers’ for him.
