Moyes names strong FA Cup side

|

David Moyes has named a strong side for the club’s FA Cup third round clash with Brentford.

The Hammers boss spoke about his desire to bring fringe players into the fold but has resisted the urge to make sweeping changes.

Lukasz Fabianski keeps his place in goal, while a back five is made up of Ben Johnson, Craig Dawson, Angelo Ogbonna, Nayef Aguerd, and Emerson.

In midfield, Declan Rice and Tomas Soucek will continue to have their legs tested, while Jarrod Bowen and Lucas Paqueta provide support to Mikey Antonio up front.

Gianluca Scamacca is not in the squad, and neither is Alphonse Areola, with Darren Randolph given the chance to sit on the bench.

Senior players Said Benrahma, Aaron Cresswell, and Thilo Kehrer are all on the bench alongside Randolph.

Full West Ham XI: Fabianski; Johnson, Dawson, Ogbonna, Aguerd, Emerson; Rice, Soucek; Bowen, Paqueta, Antonio. Subs: Randolph, Cresswell, Fornals, Downes, Benrahma, Kehrer, Coventry, Swyer, Mubama.

I am disappointed with Moyes yet again. Drops Fornals who has not played and is fresh. Just makes no sense. Does not start Benrahna, who is also fresh. Sticks with Soucek and Bowen again. We are tired with whars going on and not putting out our best players. He deserves everything he gets tonight . If he loses tonight he needs to be sacked for me nothing fas changed.
