Moyes’ polite response to Mourinho mind games

|

David Moyes has shown much more courtesy to Jose Mourinho than the Spurs boss has chosen to show to him.

The Spurs boss – in typically mind games mentality -decided confrontation was the way to go when telling the Irons boss and squad that they would be tumbling down the table before the season was out.

The fact that Moysie and the boys are six points ahead of Spurs in the League and that the boss is in line for a manager of the year award doesn’t appear to have entered his mindset.

Commenting on Mourinho and tomorrow’s game whilst speaking to reporters, the Iron boss said: ““I think maybe I’ve been in different clubs and being Manager of the Year doesn’t always necessarily mean you’re at the top team. It sometimes means it’s what you’ve done with other teams.

“I would swap my Manager of the Year awards for Jose Mourinho’s medals if that was possible because I don’t want to have individual awards for myself,

I want to have club awards and I want to have team awards. To have a CV like Jose with the trophies on it was remarkable.

“Yeah I’m very proud of my Manager of the Year awards that came at different times. But I would really have loved to get one Of Jose’s Premier League managers, that’s for sure.”

All very easy when you’re given the time at top teams like mourinho was in the past moysie. Now he’s manager of Tottenham though I doubt he will win anything.

      Hi Vinny

Are you the Vinny who used to write match reports on Westhamonline.net? I really used to enjoy those. In fact one of my gripes with BFS was that he put an end to those reports through mind-numbingly boring performances

As for Mourinho – he is just a bitter man now whose time has gone – he will be lucky to still be at Spurs next season

If there is one thing I recognise about mours over the years.. No matter what team he manages. He never ever openly bad mouths any managers. So I would suggest listening to the whole act, or interview to get proper context. And of course, like this article you can draw your own conclusion, just like I have.

  • Mourinho can play he’s mind games all he he likes .he won’t win nothing with spurs that’s for sure . Keep on doing what you’re doing moyes

  • David Earle says:

Mourinho is great for football as he always gives us something to talk about. COYI’s it would be great to beat his Spuds

You mean, Moyes never coached a big team, right? Put your facts right and check it before spitting your poison, the only bitter thing here is the jealousy for a man whose name alone gives him 15 million in wages…..
