Moyes: “We haven’t been talking to every Tom, Dick and Harry”

|

Manager David Moyes has  disappointed all those enthusiastic media types who link the Hammers with a new player target almost every day.

Yes, there will be new arrivals – that’s a given – and has been admitted by our own sources but there is nothing it seems in the many names linked with the club so far.

Frankly, stuff from the foreign press can probably be ignored anyway because it seems more than apparent that the Hammers manager is looking to go British as he dips into his favourite area – the Championship.

But for now there’s nothing going on he claims despite having been spotted at both The Valley and Loftus Road over recent days.

The very idea that at such a critical time ON the pitch he is going to be concentrating things OFF it seems more than a bit peculiar anyway and he has now made it clear that is not the case.

Speaking after the 1-1 draw at Old Trafford he said:  “I have to say my focus has been completely on every game, so we’ve not been looking and talking to every Tom, Dick and Harry like everybody seems to think. We’ve tried to focus on winning the games in the Premier League.

“We’ll start to look to see what we have to do and try and get ready for the new season, which we’ll look forward to. Hopefully with the team we’ve got, we’ve got some good young players, and I hope that we can build and add to that.”
