New twist in Roberto tale

|

According to Diario AS  West Ham goalkeeper Roberto is wanted by La Liga giants Atletico Madrid this summer.

The 34-year-old spent the second half of the season on loan at Alaves and it looked like he would remain that next season.

Roberto told the local Spanish press “Deportivo Alavés have offered me a hand from the first day and that is why it is much easier, that is why I think this is a great place to be, be happy and enjoy this, to be able to continue with a good career.

According to a report from Mundo Deportivo, Alaves want to sign the West Ham goalkeeper this summer, having been very impressed with him during his loan spell with the club.

Hammer Roberto was recently awarded the Deportivo Alaves Man Of The award in their 2-1 win over Real Betis last night.

The 34-year-old is contracted to the Hammers until June 2021 with an option to extend that deal by another year Spanish publication El Correo explains is still a possibility that Roberto could continue at Alavés beyond July and possibly next season. Roberto joined West Ham on a free transfer from Espanyol last year.

Let’s hope (and PRAY) that there is a bidding war for him and we can somehow get £5M plus for him…. to add to our coffers.
Talk about out of the Blue 😳

We, as Hammers fans, have given our thoughts on Roberto based on around 4 games that we’ve all seen him have a nightmare in.

The Spanish have watched him play in their top league for many years and so know a lot more about him and what he can do I suppose.
